A church that people want to connect with.

BELIEFS

The leadership of Northeast Christian Church understands there is room for differing opinions even among Christians. For those who might be searching for a church home and to remove confusion in our ever-changing world, we publicly declare our beliefs. Those who have differing opinions are welcome to attend our services with the understanding that these are, and will be, the beliefs of Northeast Christian Church. Everyone, regardless of their personal beliefs, will be treated with love.

GOD
There is one God, eternally existing in three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and each possesses all the attributes of God. God is the Creator and Sustainer of the universe and everything in it.
(Genesis 1:1, 26-27; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

JESUS CHRIST

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is one with God the Father and the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is our Savior, who was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for all sin, and was raised from the grave after three days to demonstrate His defeat of sin and death. He ascended into heaven and will return to earth to reign as our mighty King.
(Matthew 1:22-23; John 1:1-5; Hebrews 14-15; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Acts 1:9-11; Colossians 2:9-10; 1 Timothy 6:14-15)

HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is one with God the Father and Jesus Christ. Those who accept Christ as their Savior will receive the Holy Spirit to live inside them. The Holy Spirit serves as our comforter, guide, and advocate. The Holy Spirit is given to Christians and provides guidance in living, an understanding of the Bible, and prayerful intercession. (Acts 1:8; John 14:16-17, 16:7-13; Galatians 5:25; 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 Peter 1:2)

SCRIPTURE
Our foundation is based firmly upon the Bible Scriptures as our ultimate authority on Christian beliefs and a guide to living. The Bible Scriptures are divinely inspired by God, without error, given to man so that we may know and understand the truth of God and his love. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 12:6, 119:105)

SALVATION
Salvation is not something that can be purchased or earned. It is a free gift from God provided by Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross and is received through faith. It is available to everyone who accepts Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord. That faith is expressed through repentance of sin and baptism by immersion. (John 3:16; Acts 4:12; Romans 5:10, 6:23, 10:10; Ephesians 2:8-10)

HUMANITY
All people are made in the image of God and were created to live the adventure of following Jesus Christ. Although we, as people, have tremendous potential for good, we also have the freedom to do evil. Our disobedience toward God is called “sin," which separates humanity from God. (Genesis 1:27; Isaiah 53:6, 59:1-2; Romans 3:23; Psalm 139:13-16; Colossians 2:13-15)

VALUES

  1. We honor God and Christ's church with integrity.
We embrace worshiping God individually and together as a lifestyle.

  2. We build unity in essentials.
The message about God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, the Bible, and salvation doesn’t change.

  3. We give up things we like for things we love even more.
We show liberty in non-essentials and will not argue or divide over them.

  4. We pursue healthy living.
We make disciplined life choices today—emotional, financial, intellectual, physical, relational, and spiritual—in order to better live tomorrow.

  5. We invest in kids, students, and developing leaders.
We believe in the present and future of the church and put our resources into its growth.

  6. We will figure out whatever it takes, to reach one more person who doesn't know Jesus.
We take faith-filled risks and experiment with methods, programs, and environments to reach people for Jesus.

  7. We strive for excellence.
We consistently bring our best, evaluate, and seek to improve.

  8. We trust one another and believe the best.
We give the benefit of the doubt to each other.

  9. We are generous with who we are and what we have.
We are stewards and will use the resources God has given us; what we have and the person we are—influence, money, stuff, talent, and time—for Kingdom work.

  10. We have fun and laugh together… a lot.
We smile and enjoy the “life to the full” Jesus offers.
