Share Your Story
There’s no better time than the present. Your story of transformation can stir others on in a walk with Christ. Be bold and share your story today. It doesn’t have to be dramatic or polished, just honest.
You may share it in written form or on camera.
Need Help Telling Your Story?
These questions are meant to help you reflect on how God has been at work in your life. You don’t need to answer every question, just one or two that help tell your story.
- What was your life like before following Jesus, and what’s different now?
- When have you seen God clearly show up or answer a prayer?
- How has God met you in a challenging or defining season of your life?
- How have relationships or community helped shape your faith?
- How has your faith changed the way you live, serve, or see others?
Story Structure:
Step 1: “I was ...” (Share about your life before Jesus.)
Step 2: “Then God ...” (Share about the moment you met Jesus.)
Step 3: “And now ...” (Share about the impact Jesus has made in your life.)
Write it down or type it up!
How to Record Your Story on Video
We have just a few tips and tricks to get the best recording from your home, office, dorm, or other environment. Most importantly, be yourself, speak from the heart, and trust that God will use your testimony in amazing ways. *Use the camera on your smartphone, tablet, or computer to record and then upload to the form below.
- Find a quiet space.
Do your best to record your video in an environment free of competing noise, interruptions, or audible distractions. A bedroom, office, kitchen, car, or living room is all great! - Check your surroundings.
Telling your story is a bold act of faith, but that doesn’t mean the internet needs to know everything about you. Consider setting up a place that doesn’t divulge family information, photos, or work details you’d rather keep to yourself. Be sure that other screens, TVs, or foot traffic are not competing with your capture. - Step into the light.
Set up your computer, tablet, or phone in a well-lit area and ensure your face is centered in frame and free of any harsh shadows or aggressive fluorescent lights. We also suggest shooting indoors rather than outdoors. - Be real.
Your story is perfectly imperfect. Don’t put undue pressure on yourself to over-rehearse or script your story. Simply share what God’s been up to in your life and how he’s given you hope for the road ahead. Please cap your video at 3 minutes. Pray and ask God where to focus your testimony. - First name.
While we’re a church that truly values being seen and known, please do not share your last name. You may, of course, introduce yourself and tell a little about your journey at Northeast, but you needn’t include private personal information.
FAQs
Have questions about the submission process, privacy concerns, or additional ways to connect with a pastor? We’re here to help. Simply screen the topics below!
- Why does Northeast encourage people to share their life stories?
At Northeast, we believe stories are powerful tools God uses to reach hearts. Your journey, through struggles, redemption, healing, or transformation, might be what someone else needs to hear to take a step toward Jesus. When you share what God’s done in your life, you help someone else believe He can do it in theirs.
- What kind of stories are you looking for?
Yours. We’re looking for authentic stories of how Jesus has changed your life; big moments or small steps. Whether you’ve overcome addiction, walked through loss, found purpose, or simply started trusting God in a new way, your story has the power to inspire others. - Will my story be posted online right away?
No. Every story goes through an internal review process first. We want to make sure your story is told with clarity, care, and sensitivity—especially when it includes deeply personal experiences. Our team may lightly edit or follow up with you to ensure it is communicated well. - Why do you only use first names when sharing stories publicly?
To protect your privacy and safety online, we only include your first name when sharing your story. In today’s digital world, this small boundary helps ensure your personal information stays personal—while still allowing your testimony to make an impact. - What if my story is too personal to be shared publicly?
We get it—some stories are sacred, complex, or still in progress. When you submit your story, you’re not committing to public sharing right away. Our team will review it carefully, and if parts are too sensitive, we may hold off or share it in a more private or limited way. - Can I submit a story on behalf of someone else?
We encourage everyone to share their own story in their own voice. If you know someone with an incredible testimony, feel free to invite them to submit it themselves when they’re ready. - What if I’m not a writer or don’t know how to say it “just right”?
No worries—we’re not looking for perfect words, just honest hearts. Start where you are and speak from the heart. - How long should my story be?
Please cap your video at 3 minutes for a couple of reasons. 1) To relieve you of the burden of trying to cover the extent of your entire lifetime. Focus on a key season of God’s impact. 2) When sharing testimonies with non-believers outside the church, people may be distracted, disinterested, or pressed for time. Practicing a succinct, clear message equips you to plant seeds of hope in others and to journey deeper as your relationship grows. - What happens after I submit my story?
After you submit, our team will carefully review your story. We may reach out to you to clarify details or express any needs for a re-capture. We’ll notify you when the story goes live on our site. - Can I request that my story remain anonymous or be shared only privately?
We plan to build out a library for public viewing. That said, if you’d like to write in or connect with a pastor for a more private experience, we’d more than welcome it.
